I have an E320 (03) and about 2 weeks ago getting out the snow i turned off the esp and floored the thing until i was just about burning rubber!! I got out of the spot but immediately after all three lights went on - abs, bas, and something else. I drove the car to work parked it and went about my buisness. When i turned the car back one the lights were gone but the steering was really stiff. When i turn i dont hear a sound but it is very difficult to turn. I had been driving like this for a bout 2 weeks and it was bareable. About 3 days ago it got significanly worse. when i turn i still dont hear any sound but it is gotton almost impossible to turn to wheel. I took it in and mercedes is saying i need to replace the steering pump. Does this sound familiar to anyone. What they are saying is that they are not even sure if this is the issue, but that they have to replace it to see what else is might be wrong. Any help??

 

That's what it sounds like...pump going bad...ouch!
