Default oil change every 13,000? thats a long time!

I bought a 07 c230 it had around 23,000 miles. Since then i have put 7,000 miles on it. I think its time to get an oil change but the dealership says to do it every 13,000. Should i really wait that long?

Your car will be just fine...they use 5W-40 Mobil 1 Fully synthetic engine oil, and Mercedes-Benz engineers designed those engine so it could withstand such long interval. However, it wouldn't hurt to do just an oil change in between services (A or B). Trust me on this!!!!!!

take care,

Relax. Your car will tell you when it needs an oil change ('A' or 'B' service). It seems that only a lot of USA drivers advocate frequent oil changes. The rest of the world follows the oil changes specified in the manual. Must be a carryover from the old days when the Detroit Three changed oil often before synthetics.
BTW, my BMW wants a change every 25,000 km (15,000 mi) while my 2002 C230 coupe wants a change every 15,000 km (9,300 mi).
All the companies are using better oil and are stretching the limits of their oil changes.
In the end its your choice. You should get a multitude of answers.
