I posted in another thread but got no responses, so I am going to start a thread to keep me motivated and maybe get some advice.

My dad passed away last month and my stepmother is giving me my dad's 79 Mercedes. I need a car and this one is available. It needs some work. The engine is ok (I think) and it will need a paint job.

I am not sure how long this will take me, since I am in college and dont have a great job...but I am going to plug away it as much as possible.

Here are the things I want or need to do to this car

1. Brakes are leaking, so I am planning on filling the brake fluid and waiting for a leak to come through so I can find out where the leak is.

2. Front ball joints need to be replaced.

3. Fornt seats need to be replaced. (I am sort of debating having some custom seats done. My dad and I both loved/love star trek, so I am thinking of getting some star trek looking seats put in)

4. Driver's side window needs to be replaced.

5. Sun roof is stuck.

Fun stuff I want to do if I get the time or money

6. Paint job (Maybe the traditional gold color?)

7. New rims
