I have a 94 SL500 project car and I am servicing the trans. I can not find on the vehicle anywhere what trans fluid is recommended and I do not have an owners manual. I have in the past found that relying on a parts counter man for these type questions can be iffy at best. Or is there an advisable replacement for a trans with high mileage. Thanks in advance for your help.

 

What about synthetic? any advantage or just a more expensive service?

 

I used the old style stuff on mine; no need to use the more expensive stuff on that model year.
