How about the pressure regulator which is often an integral part of the fuel pump. Low cost to replace.
I take it that no codes are stored.
Only when the fuel tank is low?? If so possibility that pickup has "dropped off".
You then get into much more complex and expensive possibilities. e.g. EIS Electronic Ignition Switch etc.
