I assume this is the route cause of the irratic idle? do i need to replace gaskets or just crank down unitl it stops... open pump it and close it, have i introduced air into my system? Do I need another hand pump... leak is or was dripping at one drip every 40 seconds...

If you have the old style Hand Primer with the shiny Aluminum Body and that hard plastice Plunger that you unscrew to move up and down they are ar commone soruce of leakes when they are worn out.

It is best to replace it with a newer style real Bosch Hand Primer. Once installed you only have to push down on it and a spring brings the plunger back up.
I am saying to get a real Bosch one because some members of the various forums have had problems with the copied ones.
And Bosch claims to use Viton Seals inside of the Hand Primer. Viton is the material that can Stand Bio Diesel that in some areas is being sold blended with Diesel Fuel and other alternate Fuels.

Also if you can shop around. The Bosch Hand Primers can be found fom $17-$22. If you can wait for the parts from an internet seller add some other things you need like filters and with some if you spend more than $50 you get free shipping.
