Can anyone run my VIN number and tell me if the car was wired with the fiber optic cable fora CD changer? I could find it visually.

It should have fiber optics, leftside trunk behind paneling. remove it and you should see orange fiber optic cables. you should have a power cord there too it will be a small 2 pin connector.

 

The fiber optics have to be routed to the changer and the radio should be coded to know the cd changer is there. Otherwise you may run into problems. If the optics are not routed to the changer, you will not here any sound. The optical signal is a light signal and must continue through all the components. Any broken signal and you will have now sound.
I have seen a few cases where the radio not coded to know which components are there causing the system to shut down at times.
