my middle compartment is stuck it wont open at all, its sticking out and i dont know how to fix it.
dealership wont tell me they just want my money to fix it themselves
it has happend befor and im tired of giving them my money
does anyone know if i can fix it myself?

 

I have a 03 SL500 and from what I've read the glove box sometimes gets locked up requiring removing the panel on side of the glove box. (Open door to see panel, not visible from just sitting in the car.) Once the panel is removed a cable is adjusted to open the glove box. When I use the key to lock the glove box it also locks the center arm rest, rear compartments and trunk.

If yours operates in the same manner I think you would be able to remove the panel and see a cable going to your center compartment and possibly opening the compartment. This is just a guess, maybe someone with more knowledge will chime in and help you.. Good luck
