i have a 1993 mercedes 190E 2.0 injection which is in very nice condition. I have travelled approx. 115K trouble free miles and she has now developed the symptoms of a head gasket problem. There is oil in teh coolant and i am having to top up the rad more and more frequently.

Has anybody on the forum ever changed a head gasket on a 190 ? is it a big job ? where do i start ? is it something that a mecchanically competent guy can take on? the biggest one of all is " is it worth doing on an engine with so many miles?"

does anybody (in the UK ) have an address of a good reliable mechanic that will do a good job?
