Hello! my trans shifter interior lights went out on my 1994 s420. Would someone know what number fuse is associated with those lights. I checked all my fuses and theyre fine, but none are specific for the shifter lights. If i need to change those bulbs, how do i access them? The center console seems impossible to remove by looking at it. Thanks

 

if the instrument cluster and/or center console got no illumnations too, then it's the fuse.

but if it's only the shift gate, then it must be the bulb.

just pull out the trim. the middle one first.

 

Thanks for replying to my question sleep, all my other itnerior lights are on, so i guess it is the bulbs on the shifter, everything looks perfectly sealed, i have a seal around the wood trim, i will look at it some more i just would hate to scuff anything up then later say i wish i would have payed the dealer.

Hey sleep, i changed my light on the shifter and now my fuel door wont open, iam sure they have nothing to with the other, but can i do anything manualy to open this door? my fuel tank is low i cant even drive it to a service shop if i wanted to. Anything manual i can do to open this fuel door? what shuld i check and where? thanks again

 

remove or move aside the cover (figure 1), then pull the red button.

check PSE pump.

I owe you about 600 bucks sleep, you helped me with excellent diagrams twice. I pulled that lever and my tank opened right up. It also opens and closes normal for some reason now. Thanks a million for responding back to my posts. The shifter job was very easy but without the diagrams you sent i would have never figured it out. Thankssss
