Hi, I have a 2005 (55) CLS320 CDI which I love. The power is excellent as is the fuel economy, the only thing im not happy with is the 7 speed auto gearbox. Although it is a fantastic 'box, the gearchange is very lazy, taking 2 - 3 seconds before changing gear. I am in the process of selling the CLS and either getting another newer 1 (2007 - 2009), or a new E class coupe 350 CDI (2009). Unfortunately I hear the gearchange in either of these cars is just as lazy (possibly same 7 speed gearbox??).

My question is this;

Does anybody know if these gearboxes be tuned/modified in any way to speed up the change? Im not looking for more speed or power, just a more responsive, enjoyable gearchange.
