'88 190E 8v. My A/C blower works very rarely now. Quit working normally yesterday-seems to work okfirst thing in the morning, but that's it.It may work one time out of ten when I start the car after that. The compressor seems to be working normally; cold air trickles out of the vents. I suspect a relay, but the one which controls the blower motor (R3) also controls the compressor, which runs fine.No previous problems with blower, or noises, etc. Also when I press the defrost button (far left), the fan does not go on high like normal; it does nothing. Maybe someone here has seen this? Please help, and thanks in advance.

 

GOT IT! There is a fusible link (thin strip if lead-like metal) inside a black plastic box about 1x2" on top of the driver's side front fender. It had cracked in two. Replaced this, and the blower works as good as new.
