I would like to know if anyone converted a 300 SD, 1981 to R 134, and what changes has to be done?

I believe Benz makes a kit for the car and it is not too expensive.

 

You can get a generic conversion kit at any auto parts store for $40 or less. The problem is that you have to be licensed to dispose of the R12 residue that is still in your system. Environmentally toxic stuff. I had the job done by my local mechanic for $125.
