Default OEM VES Problems plus Convert VCP to DVD

Has anyone had problems with their FM Modulator in their OEM VES? I just picked up a 2002 ML500 and the sound from the VES is very faint and there is a lot of static. Any ideas?

I also wanted to change the VCP to a DVD. I'd prefer to add the OEM DVD so it's just plug an play. I think it was made by Rosen but am not sure what model or where they can be purchased. Thanks!

Default RE: OEM VES Problems plus Convert VCP to DVD

I found the problem!

I took the glove box apart and the plug that goes into the FM transmitter was not locked in. Just pushed it the rest of the way in and the problem went away. I also noticed that every time the FM transmitter touched the central interface module, I would get interference. Perhaps there is a bad ground, but I just used an oversized double layer of velcro to ensure no interference. Now I can finally stop using the iTrip on my iPod and start using the Aux In of the VES.
