Default Help with rotational rubbing sound after brake job...?

I noticed just before replacing the worn front rotors and pads that there was a rotational rubbing sound when traveling 30-35MPH. I thought it was maybe the rotors being warped.

So, I thought by replacing the front rotors (ATE) and pads (Mintex) that the sound would go away, but it's still there.

I've notice that new pads installed from MB has chamfered ends. Is this the solution to my problems? Any help is much appreciated.

BTW, my car is a 99' ML 320.

Would wheel bearings go out at 75K miles? How can I check this? Is it safe to rotate the wheels by hand with the car jacked up of course?

Did you check to make sure a backing plate / dust shield isn't hitting the rotor?

These are the hardest type questions to answer, due to us relying on "YOUR" trained (and in some cases, not-so-trained) ears.

But here goes anyway.

Can you please describe the sound a little better.

Does it sound like metal to metal ? Like if you were spinning a wheel and holding a screw driver against it

Does it get worse, better or no change when the brake pedal is pressed ?

let us know and maybe we can help
