Default HELP A NEW MEMBER... VIBRATION PROBLEMS

OK, here is the deal, I have a 1987 Mercedes E 260 in Great Condition. About 2 weeks ago I used it to give a buddy a jumpstart and had it idling for about a half hour afterwards. since then I have a terrible vibration while idling and in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear! I can "get past" the vibration by pressing the gas pedal in hard but it comes back while letting up on it. I am thinking a new fuel filter would do the job, it hasn't been replaced since new! Any other ideas? Help a new guy out here, I love this car as all Mercedes and want to keep driving this....

Vibrations like you mention can be many things..... most likely it's not firing on one or more cylinders and when you put it in gear it just magnifies the vibrations.

Sounds like you need a Tune-up.

If the Fuel Filter hasn't been replaced since new, I would be swapping that thing out ASAP.

Give it a "Complete", "Full" Tune-up and that should take care of your problem.

Hope this helps,
Cheers
