I recently bought a 2006 C180K to add to my SLK320, however my wife is unable to drive the C class as it's manual and she doesn't have the strength to overcome the spring loaded reverse gear detent (the car is a manual). No such problem with the SLK as it's auto. Before I start tearing into the car (or swapping it for an auto) can this spring loading be reduced? This is the only thing spoiling our enjoyment of an otherwise excellent car.
