do not put it on the window since the glass can pinch it through the channel.
on the door, no problem. there is always soft spot even if you close it everytime. the weatherstrip are made of soft materials to fill the gap.

Since the Garmin works OK without the external anetnna it is probably a moot point.
Thanks for your help...your advice is always smart.

RE: GPS Signal Radiator for S class
quite tricky on SLK.
but i have to choose, i prefer running the wire underneath the seal so as to prevent in contact with the glass.

RE: GPS Signal Radiator for S class
Why not get two signal radiators and run the wire through to the trunk on each car? Leave the radiator part inside the cabin somewhere (hidden discreetly) and leave the antenna in the trunk when you aren't using it. Then just pull it out and stick it on top of a rear fender when you need it. But then again, you really don't need it for the SLK, so you decide.
I'm going to run mine through the firewall on my truck. I'll use a rubber grommet and some sealant. I always put my remote antenna on the hood somewhere and that's where I'll put the receiver part when it's in use and under the hood somewhere when I don't need it.
