I am trying to locate and replace the back glass on a 1979 450slc. I have found a 1981 380sl at a junkyard with good glass and a decent price. I am looking to find out if it will be compatible?
Any help would be appreciated.

No, the rear window glass.

 

I thought the slc was a hard top and the sl was a convertible with the removable hard top?

 

I believe you are correct.....the junker 81 is an SLC, I posted it incorrectly as an SL
