just wondering if anyone can help.

I have a 1991 Mercedes Benz 350SD TURBO. Upon startup, There is a lot of white or blue smoke and all the oil drain out of engine and comes out at the tailpipe in about 10 to 15 minutes. i tried two TURBO'S, one was rebuilt and on from a 300SDL TURBO.

Could anyone suggest what might be the culprit?

Maybe you got sludge in your engine and the oil cannot go back down into the oil pan as fast as comes up. And once your oil pump filled up the valve caver then the engine can suck the oil out via bleeding hose(s). I assume your piston rings and vale seals are in good condition. Check the oil return line from the turbo it's clean or not and check the vacuum line on the valve caver,too.
