Default Door **** rising up...

Someone has to have seen this. On my 97 E430 when I try and lock the vehicle with the keyless or the keyhole all of the ***** go down like they are supposed to, but then the driver door **** slowly rises back up. Additionally, the **** will not allow me to push it down manually at all. This must be something simple. Help!

hello, this might help- check your driver side door lock actuator, it maybe leaking- it's vacuum operated and soon as the air leaks out the lever goes back and it will seem too hard to push it back down.

Thanks for the reply. Is the door difficult to disassemble? It has the SRS and I've never messed with that before. I just got the vehicle so I dont even have a service manual yet.

Where is the actuator located? Is it in the door?

the door lock actuator is situated inside the door. you will have to remove the door panel to get to it. it will be on the far corner left of the door. i'd recommend using a vacuum pump and test the actuator for leaks. if the actuator is fine, then your hose might be leaking.
