Default Dashboard Fuse Blown

I had the transmission replaced on my 2002 S430 in Feb. 06 & every month this year there's been a new issue. Now my dashboard just started smoking and went out on the way home from work and I can't see a thing. Does anyone know if this is something that can be done without taking to the dealer? I've replaced blown fuses in my other cars before (of course they weren't benzes). Thanks

Default RE: Dashboard Fuse Blown

this problem is very common with your year benz, actually from 2000 to 2004. Your going to need a new cluster. there are fuses on the left rear side of the engine compartment. its a black cover, take it off and see if you have your fuse chart which should be in your trunk. there are 3 fuses for the cluster all of which i think are 5 amps.. you can change the one that blew but it probably wont last for long if at all. i work for benz and a cluster is about $1000 . you can look on ebay but it wont work since its coded to a specific car.
