Default CPO process really completed?

Hi,

I'm trying to figure out if my CPO car has actually gone through the certification process. My gut tells me that it hasn't, but there must be some way of knowing for sure. While reading about the process on MBUSA, I saw mention of an "inspection label" being affixed. Is this label supposed to be proof of the CPO inspection? Where would I find it on my car?

Here are the specifics for those who want to read on...

The car was not stickered on the lot as CPO, and the MBUSA locator didn't list the car as CPO either...but the dealer told me that they would run the car through the CPO inspection as part of the sales deal. When I picked up the car, they didn't give me with the Inspection and Certification Report, Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-Owned Warranty booklet,or Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-Owned Delivery Checklist (as described on the MBUSA website). They did give me abrochure with my car'sVIN saying that it had been certified. But after I got home, I found so many things that would have been caught during the process if the car had actually been inspected that I contacted the dealer. Here are the big ones:
[ul][*]The car had a large scratch on the deck lid[*]The TeleAid system kept giving me "inoperative" errors. I couldn't evenuse it to contact them. After several calls to TeleAid's 800 number, we realized that the dealer hadn't done the 3-button reset on the system, so I don't know how they could have placed a test call with it.[*]There was no nav DVD...even though I specifically asked if they'd installed it and checked that it worked.[*]The alignment is off a little to the right.[*]Most importantly, the one piece of paper that they gave me listed the inspection as being completed on 10/08/07, but I took posession of the car on 10/06! The manager told me, "oh yeah, we did it the day before you took the car," but I know it didn't happen then because I was out in the car for most of the day and back and forth to the dealership for the rest of the afternoon while I helped my friend get two of his cars in for service. My CLS was in the front lot until the dealership closed. The sales manager said that he would get a full report on the car, but it's been 3 days since I met with him, and I haven't gotten anything yet.[/ul]
I spoke with MB customer care this morning, and they said that the car isn't listed as CPO in their records. So how do I know that the dealer actually did the full CPO inspection? At this point, I think they're just trying to save face by saying that it has been, but I want proof.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Brian
