Default Convenience Entry: too much PAIN!

I have a C320 2001 and I'm experiencing problems with the convenience entry feature. When I put the key and turn on the ignition the driver’s seat won't go forward (to the pre-set position stored in memory), or, when I turn off the ignition and remove the key, the driver's seat won't go backward. I have checked the feature for steering wheel and seat, and it’s ON. I’ve reset all the features to factory default from the menu many times with no result. My technician have told me to push the button and move all the way forward the driver’s seat (without me inside of course), release the button, wait 10 seconds, push it again for 3 or 4 seconds to “memorize” the end, move the seat back, get into the car and turn it on, but it didn’t work! Does anybody having the same issue? I’ll really appreciate any help.

Thanks.

TheOne.
