04 clk 500
key says calculating please wait. . . Waitied for a long time, days, and nothing. Thought key was bad, ordered new one, same thing. Car cranks, starts and dies right away. sprayed some gas in mass airflow/air intake and kept running, so I know it is shutting down the gas. I was thinking maybe it was the EIS switch but someone told me if the key turns it is ok. Maybe not? could it be the AM module (key control module) or Igition siwtch? anyone have a clue or have seen the problem before? the keyless works fine. I replaced batteries in old remote and new one is already new. Before all this happened the battery did die, which I replaced with a brand new one. Car was not starting with a jumpbox so I thought it was the battery but no luck. I looked at the ignition siwtch and it looks like it has 3 slops for wires to go into it but I have two going in, one big plug and one small blue plug. Maybe they use the same switch for some other models too? Can anyone tell me if their 04 clk has 3 or 2 plugs going in. Can anyone please tell me what they think the problem is? thanks so much. . .

 

Sounds like your EIS is going bad.
