Does any one have any tips on cleaning the gunk at the bottom of the master cylinder reservoir on a 1982 300SD? I'm going to flush the system, but there is this gunk at the bottom of the plastic reservoir that I would like to remove as well.

You can do two different things: use a lint free rag on the end of a stick and swab out the reservoir or remove the reservoir from the master cylinder and clean it with a mild solvent then re-install.
