Central Locking 300SL
Have had problems with the locking system (didn't work when I got it, had the top off then so why bother?) Replaced the pump with one from a junk yard, that caused everything but the doors to lock?? But caused or woke up an old problem. There is now a clunk (like an actuator) sound comming from under the outboard area under the driver and passenger seats, it happens at a 3 sec.interval when the car is unlocked running or not it stops when I lock the doors or take the PSE fuse out. An independant guy fixed the vacuum leak to the door locks but was toooo buisy to deal with the noise. Car works fine? but the noise is annoying. Is the pump trying to do something that is not obvious to me?? these mechanical marvels are rather new to me.
