Default cd changer

I am looking for a fix for my 99 clk430's trunk cd changer. Has anyone ever found a converter to connect a non-fiber optic cd changer to the fiber optic connector? Am I stuck to buying another MB cd changer? Can I put a A-203-xxx type in it instead of the A-002-xxx? Thanks for the help.

yes, you can install the 203 part number changer. that is the newest replacement part.
it is a smaller changer though, and you will have to get different brackets to install it. it is a direct replacement unit though.

Hello there guys!
I have a similar problem too. I have a none fiberoptic cd-changer MC3196 with A 002 820 62 89 cd magazine that I would like to fit to COMMAND 2.0. in my E320 2000. Wondering if there is an adapter that can be fitted between them to make them work together, or with any other cd-changer.

I would preferbly like to mount the changer in the glove compartment rather than therear trunk if this wont interfere with the electronics.

Any advice will be very much appreciated.

My 2000 c230 cd changer started by making a funny sound almost like the cd was scratched but after i changed the cd it still would do it..now it says it doesn't even detect it...But in my investigation on the net I found something intresting check it out

Doesn't a car manufature have to tell you if they have a recall on any parts??? Specially if you bought it from a dealership brand new
