Default Carbon Filter

Hello All,

The dealer said that I required some sort of Charcoal Filter or something (fuel related), anyone know where to get one for under a billion dollars (ie not from the dealer) also, where the hell is it in my engine bay?

Most probably under the rear lh fender if not in the engine bay.

As previous post, on my 300 TE the charcoal filter is behind the wheel arch liner of the nearside front wing. To be honest its not really worth replacing unless you are an Environmentalist. It just absorbs gases from the fuel vent line. They dont block up they just become spent, on later models they were sometimes just discontinued with.

You need to find out exactly what the Stealership said.
If it was replacing your Fuel Filter, Yes, that's critical and important to change out. Super easy fix there.

Air Charcoal Filter. Maybe once a lifetime.

but you definitely want to know for sure before you begin replacing it.
