I can't get the roof of my 1985 300DT to close completely. When I try to open it, it only goes about an inch, and then starts making a grinding noise directly above the drivers head. When I try to close it, it makes the same noise, and goes shut, but when I look at it from the outside, you can see that it is not quite raised up in the back, not flush with the roof line. I am concerned that it will leak soon, or that water will pool and create rust. I do not care if it works any more, but I would really like to get it shut, anybody have any suggestions without ripping the whole headliner apart, I heard that can take days.
