Certainly you can. The folks who sell these things can advise you on what extras you need, if any, to make their product work on your car.

Popsicle...I want to see a modern MB that works with a 3rd party remote starter. You show me the proof and I'll send you $100.

MBs wont start without the keyfob in the ignition. (Lexus style RF chips an exception.) It has to do with encryption. Hot-wiring will not bypass it.

I am not saying you cannot start a MB without the correct physical key. Even a successful hacker has to supply the correct encryption key electronically since he lacks physical key.

What you actually need is a third coded key. Use this key in aiding the remote starter. Wrap wire around the key (5-6 times)and than around the lock cylinder antenna pick up area (5-6times). Then use a rely to connect this wire only during remote start. This will allow the vehicle to see a coded key and think there is a key in the ignition. Cut the metal portion of the key off to render the key useless. Hope this helps.

You can purchase a bypass kit, you will need one key always inside that kit so it can send the code to the car.
UPDATE: Sorry, I forgot your car's model year, the bypass kit won't work on your car, it will work onlyon cars that did not have the smart keys, a 1997 or less.

fly_major_fly is right, RF chips are an exception
