I have a 1999 C43 AMG that has started having alarm problems, i.e going off randomly, lights flashing but no siren. siren but no lights flashing etc etc. It started after going through a car wash with an under chassis spray !. It has been to local MB Diagnostics. The printout said EVERY sensor was faulty but i find that hard to believe????, i think it is more likely to be the alarm control unit or a faulty siren but i am open to suggestions from more informed people than myself.
MB want 168 per hour to investigate this problem and inform me that if it is the control unit the cost of a new one is around 500 !!!. Is it possible to disconnect the alarm?, where is the control unit and siren???...please please help as it driving me and the neighbors mad !

 

usually its the alarm siren itself...usually in the wheel well liner behind the front tires. not exactly sure of the exact location at this time.. i would replace the siren before anything else!
