Hi, I am wondering if anyone out there can help me. I have discovered a small crack on the cat of my 2003 C230k Coupe 1.8 Litre. It is not blowing however I have my mot in 3 weeks and can imagine them failing it on this. My question is are all of the 1.8 litre W203 series cats the same (or indeed the exhausts ?) as the 230 is quite difficult to obtain used engine parts for. I know that a lot of the mechanics are identical across the range however the exhaust system may well be one of the differences to improve bhp, torque etc. Hope someone can help.

Gavin, a muffler shop may be able to simply weld over the small crack.
