Having a few prob's with my C230 Komp sports coupe... recently had the rear window tinted, then all of a sudden the remote alarm would not arm!!! then a day later all ok again. NOw getting a loud thudding noise each time i put the key in the ignition & the car powers up. Have been told it is due to the Amp (have a factory fitted BOSE sound system).. anyone else heard ofa similar prob?? or have any idea how to rectify / cost ???.. Please please help... Driving me insane!!

there are numerous antenna in the rear glass, FM, AM, central locking, tint does affect the signal of all 3 items!
not sure of your thudding noise, is it from the speakers? there is a com bar that is in the top of your rear hatchback if they did tint they probably messed with the contacts that touch the rear glass and that will screw with your radio and cenral locking. there are also some plugs for antennas and GPS in the hatch also. But you do say that one day its fine and the next its not hard to say, could be just a coincidence maybe.just some info that might help you.

On the day the rear window was tinted it didn't the remote did not work... garage said it was due to rear screen being slightly damp from the moisture of the tint glue... sure enought the following day all was back to normal with the remote.. Also noticed about the same time that the speakers were making a thuding noise each time the car was powered up with the key in the ignition...could this be a link or just a coincidence?? does it sould like an amp prob?? Thanks for your help...
