I have a 1997 C230. I have an incredibly loud brake squeal. I have put new pads, as well as discs(with the anti-squeal grease). They work fine, but still scream. Any input would be great.</P>


Also I have a mild whine from the drivetrain that occurs mostly on acceleration. I think it is the rear-end? I am very annoyed with this car!? It has 90k on it and is full of small problems. I just replaced the steering rack and there is still a left clunk on slow full corner.</P>

Are you sure it's not your wheel bearings, and did you have the disc turned. Check the fuild level in the rear end 90W gear oil. Remove fill plug level ground the oil should be at the top of the hole. check w/finger
