C230 brakes and rotors
I'm going to try to change brake pads and rotors for my 2000 c230 komp. Never done this before. I've got a buddy who will be "assisting" me if I need help, but I prefer to do it myself and "learn". I've researched parts and intructions (from this forum and elsewhere), and I believe I have a good grasp of what I'm suppose to do. But I do have some last minute concerns, and was hoping some of the more experienced MB guys out there can advise.
1) Just to confirm: My chassis is "...A82XXXX", so I should get the rear brake pads with 1 retaining pad based?
2) My buddy suggessted "bleeding of the brakes." Is this necessary?
3) Someone in the forum mentioned also changing the brake sensors and brake hoses. Necessary?
4) How necessary is the "resetting device"? Is there an alternative tool I can use? (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Merce...ayphotohosting)
My shopping list:
brake pads / rotors / anti-squeal paste / metric hex key and socket
Thinking back to the first time you first did a brake/rotor job, what were some of the common "first" mistakes I should avoid (i.e. the general consensus in the forum seems to be that most rotors, especially stock, take some muscle to pry off, so I'm going to have some PB blaster spray and a torch handy to heat up/expand the rotors).
Keep in my mind I'm not a professional mechanic like a lot of you guys are... just an average joe tinkering under the hood =)
...so, any advice would be most greatly appreciated.

RE: C230 brakes and rotors
Well , How'd it go?
I am in the same situation you were 3 months ago. I just found this site and am searching for the same input.
I have a 2000 c230 and want to change the pads and poss. rotors.
Any advice since you just did it?
Thanks!
