I have a C220 1999 petrol model. Few days back the central locking stopped working. I checked the fuses and the vacuum lines and realised the pump is not working. Well I opened the PSE unit to see what the problem is and realised that the brushes on the pump were burnt out. I fitted new brushes (modified) and the central locking started working fine. But I have noticed another problem (which might have been there earlier)- when I press the button on the remote control to lock/ unlock, the lights on the mirror and on the driver side door handle- the green and red light- both light up simultantouesly. Previously only the red light would glow when locking and the green when unlocking. Now both are glowing/ flickeringat the same time for about 15seconds.
Any suggestions?

I replaced the batteries on the remote control and it all started working well. But to my disappointment it only worked ok for a few tries and now it is back to the same. Tested the batteries and they read ok.
What else could be the problem?
