C200 Heater Problems
Hi Guys
Would appreciate your help.
I just bought a 1998 C200 and when I have the heater switched off it is still blowing air at a low speed.
It wuld then turn itself off and start again after a while.
If I do turn the dial to 1, 2,3,4 or 5 then it will stay on that without going off.
It is only when it is at 0 ie switched off that it remains on.
How do I resolve this?
Also has this model got Air Conditioning?
If so then whats the switch for this?
Whats the EC and REST button for?
Thanks

I bought a second hand heater unit from a scrap yard.
Wherever you are there should be car scrap yards near you.
I would search for this over the internet and call them and give them the details of your car and ask them is they have the heater unit in stock.
Also check Ebay because my friend had the same problem as us and he managed to get one for £35 including delivery.
I bought mines for £15
Compared to the price from the dealership at nearly £700 its a bargain!
Exactly what the fault is I do not know but I am guessing the circuit board inside the heater unit has packed in and it cannot be fixed.
