Default C200 electrical problems

Hi to all!

I've just purchased a 1998 C200 Classic and have a couple of problems - can get them fixed under warranty, but would like to know the cause anyway:
The heater is permanently on hot (not good in May, even if it is raining);
The air blower doesn't change, no matter what setting it's on;
The EC won't come on (it did when I test drove the car);
The alarm is too sensitive.

I suspect the top three are all fuse related and am not too concerned about them, but I would like to know whether the alarm sensitivity can be altered and, if not, whether I can disable the alarm without affecting the immobiliser.

Any pointers eagerly lapped up!
