Brakes and rotors for my 2006 c280 - recommendations?
Hi,
Anyone recommend certain brakes and rotors for my 06 c280? I dont want to spend a fortune, but I dont want the economy ones. Any recommendations and/or good websites to order them from?
Also, my brake wear sensor is going off.. can I reuse the sensor, or will I have to replace them?
Thanks!

I seriously recommend only OEM brakes for Mercedes. There is noticeable difference in noise/stopping power/ and vibration when you venture over to most aftermarkets. Even brakes made by the same vendors as MB are not exactly the same. You will need to replace the sensor too. You really won't save that much either by going aftermarket unless that particular dealer has an excessive markup.

As A fell resident of TAXACHUSETTS I recommend you get OEM parts as well. Your location suggests you are close to Wagner. I would say buy the parts and take them to a local shop to have installed. You can call Wagner and ask for a free inspection. They will tell you that you will need brakes (the light is on). Ask for the specs on the rotors. There is a min. service limit (eg. 22.4mm of Thickness) If you have not reachced the service limit you do not need rotors (unless the brakes are noisy) This can save you in the range of $200-300. Be aware that if you let this go to long, and the pads/rotors get to steel on steel you will have to replace the rotors. Rough estimate is approx $125 for pads, sensors, and paste. The paste is important for noise......yes the MB brand does make a difference.
