Default Boot Central Locking Problem

Got a slight problem!
I have just changed Boot Lids, exchanged all parts over but can't get the plastic pipe that runs from car to right hand side of boot lock, to go back on to lock itself. This pipe has no fluid or wires in it. Have worked out that it is for the central locking system.
All other locks and systems work fine, just cnat lock boot.
Keys dont operate boot lock.

let me guess... your car is W140.

you are talking about the retractable trunk lid grip handle.

the "plastic pipe" you mention was actually a vacuum pipe. no fluid or wire is suppose to be on it as expected.

the is a switch that you can access just behind that handle. have you tried switching it?
