Bluetooth, can it talk to Comand?

Bluetooth, can it talk to Comand?
Is it possible to link to the comand via bluetooth, and not via a cradle in glove box? I have a Sony Ericsson 910i which, typically, is not supported by MB!
On BMW the link is by Bluetooth, and comand has a button marked bluetooth but it doesn't seem to hook up right.
It could be that I am just doing it wrong as I am clueless with this stuff!
Any ideas or do I need a new phone & cradle Nokia 6230i for example which is I think OK.
Car is a 2005 model CLK coupe 500
