BLOWER MOTOR problems and climate control 84' 300
i have a newly aquired 84 300 d turbo it has about 160k on the odometer.the blower motor would come on and then turn off after about 30 seconds and then not be able to turn on again until after i restarted car engine.i have another 300d car and tried switching out the climate controls because the buttons wouldnt stick on it like the newly aquired one.after replacing it the blower motor would turn on and then the climate controls would make some clicking noises and then turn off and not come on again until restarting engine.i have not gotten the freon checked, but i do have a cheapy a/c pressure checker and when the a/c button is pressed it goes to 0 and then when the blower motor shuts off it goes to the high side of the guage about a quarter from the stop of the high side.i am uncertain if the compressor is working.it seemed like it was coming on but i really didnt hear a load on the engine.any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.the climate control seems to work from the other car as far as activating the blower motors.thanks again for the suggestions.

blower motor problems 300D
I have an 81 300 D , blower motor works only on high. I can't find the motor resister (that boxy thing with springs inside), and it's not on the fender of the passenger side like my 85'. Instead inside I can only find two boxes behind the glove compartment, on just clicks when i try to put the fan on low or automatic.

is there a test I can do with a volt ohm meter to tell me where the problem is? I tried another push button system, that didn't help. One box behind the glove box is numbered 1-6, a line of pins go into the next box which is clicking. There was a lot of pine needles in the engine compartment when I bought this 6 months ago. if the resister is clogged, can that affect it's function?
