BLOWER MOTOR WON'T QUIT/CLIMATE CONTROL PROBLEM
have a 2000 CLK 430 w/40K miles. The blower motor will not turn off!!! Even with the car off, it still blows. I pulled the fuse to disable the motor until I find out what's going on. Has anyone else had a similar problem?? What was the fix?? Are there used parts available?? How much did it cost parts and labor??

the fuse that you remove is number 38 and 30 ampperes? that fuse only got power during ignition "on".
you need to have it checked with qualified technician. the problem can vary from fan control module, fuse and relay module, refrigirant pressure sensor, etc.
a fault code must have been stored. read it.

Thanks for the help. I was just hoping to get a "heads up" before I take it in to the shop. Actually it's fuse #25 for the blower motor/A/C that I removed....not #38. But you're right it is a 30 amp. I saw a previous post from another member with a 95 SL 600. Sounds like he had the same problem, but there was never a response with the solution. Thanks again.
The climate control works fine and does respond to temperature changes. But the fan speed did seem to blow high, even on low settings. I think the Climate Control unit is fine, but who knows when it comes to these cars. Had no idea Benz's could be electrical nightmares.

You should be able to run the A/C System Pushbutton Control Unit's "built-in" Diagnostics to determine what specific code is being generated.
From the codes, you'll get a better idea of what the problem is.
Here's how to enable the built-in diagnostics and what the meanings of the numbers are.
Hope this helps

NOTE --> These Diagnostic Trouble Codes will remain in memory even with the vehicle's battery disconnected.
FAULT DIAGNOSIS STEPS
1. IGNITION : Turn to Position 1 - (everything lit up)
2. Temperature selector : LEFT set to "HI" and RIGHT set to "LO"
3. Turn ignition "OFF".
4. Turn ignition back to the "ON" position and within 20 seconds press the "REST" and "EC" buttons simultaneously for more than 5 seconds.
5. The LED in the "RECIRCULATE" button flashes and "dI A" appears on the display.
6. Press the RIGHT "AUTO" button until all DTC's are displayed and recorded.
7. Each fault is assigned a DTC. Thus in the LEFT display "E1" appears, and the RIGHT display indicates the DTC. The current faults are displayed first, then the intermittent faults. "END'" is displayed when all codes have been displayed.
8. To erase codes (can only be done after all codes have been readout) press LEFT "AUTO" and the RIGHT "AUTO" button simultaneously for more than 5 seconds. The display will then show LEFT "d" and the RIGHT "FF". To cancel the erase, press the LEFT "AUTO" button and then the current faults will appear again.
9. Select a base temperature setting
10. IGNITION : OFF to end the test program.
