I posted this in the C class section and did get much of a response
Jan 2015 got the wife a 2015 C350 coupe 4matic. I do not drive this car
on a regular basis maybe 2 or 3 times in the last year
This Monday had a appointment at the dealer for state inspection and
oil change Car has 3000 miles on it The drive to the dealer required me driving on the highway about 15 miles I noticed a slight shimmy at 65 to 70 mph
I told this to the service writer and if they would check it out
When I picked up the car I was told I have 4 bent wheels . This did not sit right with me so I asked to speak with the service manager He tells me this is a common occurrence with the AMG wheels as they are lighter and not as durable as other wheels He said they could true them up at $160.00 each
There is no visible damage anywhere on any of the wheels or tires He said they typically bend on the inside and is caused by potholes I could understand 1 or maybe 2 wheels but all 4 this does not sound right to me
Are AMG wheel that fragile ? If so I feel I should have been advised of this when i selected them .Possible this was like this from day 1 like I said I do not drive this car on a regular basis My wife hardly drive on any highways
so I don't think she noticed it at all
Any input would be greatly appreciated
