I need help, I cant figure out how the spring works

 

You remove the pin holding the base of the spring to the sleeve.
Insert the star from outside through the sleeve, holding the sleeve on the inside.
use a thin but stiff wire to pull the spring so that the base of spring is just out of the sleeve.
Put in the pin and remove the wire you used to pull the spring.
You can do it within half an hour.

take the old one off ,what ever you can do!make sure when it off the old one not drop and break your windshield....
install the new one just plug it at the old hole ,use your hand or tool to pull out the u metal and just turn it ....then it done.it just cost you 1 mins to do.

 

Just remove the pin. Take out the outer sleeve.
Do not mess around with any other parts.
Put in the whole unit from the outsiside so that it goes through the outer sleeve held under the hood.
Use a hook made from a thin wire(see diagram 2) to pull the inner spring out of the sleeve and insert the pin.
