Default alignment probs... can i do it?

Hi! My names Jenny and I am really trying to adjust the camber on my 1980 280 SE and am afraid that the rear bearing cam bolt has been replaced as it is not metric... Mind you, I am smart, but have never done any alignment related repairs.
Is it even possible to adjust the camber myself? The tires are riding so far on the inside the tread is hardly worn except for an inch or two on the inside and the steel belts are starting to show, I know.... bad news. Problem is I dont have $$$ but I am pretty good with tools and just want to do it myself. Please give me your tips!!!

if it has eccentric bolt, you can adjust.

If the Tires are worn on the Inside check the Toe In. This can be done very easily, I paint the tire tread and then scribe a line in the paint by spinning the tire against a fixed pointer. Then you can measure the distance from side to side by measureing accross the front of the tires and then the rear. Some toe in is necessary and toe out will create the tire wear you are looking at. Check the specs for all 3 alignment adjustments. Castor, Camber & Toe. A quality alignment shop can set you straight at little cost. (usually less than the cost of a tire.)

Hello,

Are you still looking for a rear camber solution for your vehicle? If so, let me know. I think we can provide you with a kit for that vehicle.
