86' 190E hesitates on acceleration

86' 190E hesitates on acceleration
My 1986 190E will pause or hesitate when I press the accelerator. If I press the accelerator 1/4 down and hold it, the engine will respond slowly then start to develop good power as the rpms increase. I am wondering if the mass airflow meter is faulty. Anyone have any other ideas?
