Hi,
I have a 1984 240D automatic that has been running just fine. Overnight and with no apparent outside factors, it now only shifts gears at the highest shift points (marked on the speedometer). If the car doesn't reach a certain speed in each gear, it never shifts into the next gear. I looked back for posts over the last five months and didn't see anything (unless I missed it) so I thought I'd start a new thread and ask for assistance.
Thanks in advance,
Dave

Look for a disconnected vacuum line around the oil filter area. Sometimes during an oil change they get disconnected. Beyond that maybe a broken T.V. cable to the trans?
