Default 190D shift points

I just put a newish (77,000 miles) motor in my 1985 190D. I bought the car with a weak motor, bad rings it turns out, but I'm on the road now.
I'm still tweeking and adjusting everything but here is my question:

It has an automatic transmission it seems to shift fine but where should my shift points be and what should the Tachometer read at 75 mph?
It is shifting now at about 3,000 RPM but at 70 to 75 mph it is running at just over 3,500 rpm this seems high to me.

And yes I learned the hard way "There is nothing more expensive than a cheap Mercedes"

Thanks

Thanks Forced, That's kinda what I expected but since I will be driving this car about 500 miles a week starting today, I wanted to be sure.
